Came to Tiger Bay in 1984, visiting in 1960s; Butetown before redevelopment; siblings; moving to California with new partner; Detroit and celebrities; mother moved to USA. Living in Butetown as child; where they slept during WW2; letting rooms to seamen; house in Bute Street; mother went to work after father was killed in 1941; evacuation; rationing.
